Residential refurbishment and extension
Our clients owned a much dilapidated west London Victorian house which had been over the years divided into four flats. The brief was to divide the property into two large apartments. Planning permission was gained for major alterations and 100 sq m of additional floor space.
A major design emphasis was to capture the morning, evening and sky light with the introduction of large windows, roof lights and voids in the garden. Glass doors, screens and balustrades were used to diffuse light across the deep open plan. A elegant steel, glass and oak stair sits within a simple void.
Design features
• there is underfloor heating throughout
• discreet intelligent lighting
• surround sound multimedia in each room
• high ceilings and careful flush detailing
• The kitchen spaces utilises the roof void and with a central lantern
• Sliding, folding doors from the kitchen to a raised terrace for al fresco dining
