Describing
the creative process is always difficult. Each project is unique,
so each elicits a different architectural response. However, it is
certainly true to say we’re committed to working in the contemporary idiom.
Yet we don’t see modernism as an end in itself. Rather, it’s
a means to an end: to create comfortable, desirable environments that
are capable of meeting the demands of the way we live today with design
integrity. You could say our modernism is a way to accommodate, rather
than regiment, contemporary lifestyles.
A successful design, of course, is one where the overall vision is
carried through into every individual detail, so we take great pains
to make sure each design’s integrity isn’t compromised
during the construction phase.
When it comes to individual projects, our first criterion is to meet
your brief and budget limits. Within those constraints, we work to:
• analyse your brief thoroughly, exploring your options with
a view to creating something fresh and innovative
• ensure clarity of space
• provide an abundance of natural light where appropriate
• specify materials based on performance, look, feel and sustainability
– the priority tends to depend on the project
• produce a building or an interior which looks and feels ‘right’ |
